        A native of Hong Kong, Jimmy Chan is a versatile solo, chamber and orchestral percussionist who has performed in countries around the world. Jimmy has performed nationally with the San Francisco Symphony, Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale, Berkeley Symphony, and One Found Sound. He was the associate percussionist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He has also performed with other orchestras around the world under maestros Stéphane Denève, Sir Neville Marriner, Esa-Pekka Salonen, John Williams, and Michael Tilson Thomas. 

 

         As a soloist, Jimmy did solo recitals and concerts in Asia, Europe, and North America.  He also performed at the International Marimba Academy Concert in Belgium and performed a marimba concerto with the Colburn Orchestra. For ensemble playing, Jimmy performed at the Cadogan Hall in London and Stanford University. He was invited as a guest artist for the Bellingham Festival of Music Residency. 

 

        Jimmy is currently a San Francisco based musician. He graduated from the Colburn Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music and San Francisco Conservatory of Music for his Master of Music and Professional Studies Diploma. Jimmy has studied under the tutelage of Jacob Nissly, Jack Van Geem, Ted Atkatz, Chau Chin-Tung, Daniella Ganeva, and Sam Walton.
